Lot’s of new pretties

So this post is basically just going to be lots of pictures of new yarn and the stuff I got in the mail today from freckled fawn. First up is yarn from Luna Grey Fiber Arts. I got this yarn to treat myself for doing so well in my first semester of grad school while balancing work and everything else that I do. All of the skeins from Luna Grey that I got are from her astro line they are fingering weight and 75% wool 25% nylon.

The colorway of this yarn is ripe peach. I got it to make the different lines shawl.

The colorway of this yarn is called Ionian2. I have no true pattern in mind for it, but it was just too pretty to pass up.

I can’t wait to cast on using one of these skeins of yarn, they are all so lovely and soft. Another incentive to buy as much yarn as I did was the fact that Jackie from Luna Grey was running a spring special where in you spend over 50 you get free shipping so that also was and incentive.

The next yarn I purchased, I got at the local yarn store down in Charleston, West Virginia. My friend and I met up down there this past weekend and had a lovely time as usual. I always look forward to those Saturday hangouts that we get to set up about once every two or three months. It was cut short this time because I had to babysit but we both got some lovely yarn, ate some delicious pizza, and had a yummy coffee at the locally owned bookstore/coffee shop.

I got this yarn from the yarn shop to make the Sperry. The colorway is called Mallard. Is nature spun brown sheep yarn. I just love the cones they sell because you get so much yarn for a decent price.

This is Natures Spun colorway snow. I got it to do the contrasting stripes for the Sperry sweater. I absolutely love the look of the Sperry sweater and can't wait to get started on it.

The last skein of yarn I wan to show you is something I am very excited about! Recently The Plucky Knitter held a giveaway, and I was lucky enough to win a skein of yarn and a pattern to go with it (the pattern is curtain call cowl). I have been wanting to try some Plucky yarn for awhile so I am very grateful and excited I won this skein. The funny thing is how I won the prize, I won it by telling one of my favorite jokes. This is the joke: What do you get when you mix alcohol and literature?Tequila Mockingbird.

Okay now on to the yarn, it is there traveler sport yarn which is beautiful, soft, and oh so pretty. It is made up of 65% merino wool, 20% silk, and 15% yak. It is just wonderful, what’s even better is the color. It is called November skies and it is like it was made for me. They picked the yarn out for me so I had no clue what color I was getting, but when it arrived I couldn’t have been more thrilled, it’s like they knew who I was and what my favorite color was.

Isn't it pretty?

Isn’t it pretty? I’m not sure if I will use it with the pattern I won with it, but I can’t wait to find the perfect pattern for it!

So that’s all of my new yarn. Yes it seems like a lot, but at least one skein I won, and with the others I have projects picked for all but one of them. In my mind as long as I have a project in mind for it and the money to spare I don’t care going on yarn binges every now and then. I don’t do it too awful much, but sometimes I just get in that kind of mood where I just want to buy every single skein of yarn I see that I think is soft and beautiful.

Now on to my freckled fawn purchase. I first hear of the freckled fawn through luvinthemommyhoods blog. She was showing all of her goodies and well I was in love. I had put off purchasing anything through them because I had no need for anything, I had been wanting some washi tape, but I didn’t NEED it. Then on my instagram they posted a picture that they were doing 5 dollar washi tape grab bags, a retail value of 20 dollars and I knew I couldn’t pass it up. So I bought two grab bags and decided to get some bakers twine while I was at it because I had been wanting some of it too, and their bakers twine was only five dollars they had tones of colors and they gave you a whole roll of it. So here’s some pictures of my new stuff! I just got it in the mail today!

Aren’t they pretty, especially since they were just from a grab bag! I’m not in love with the plain orange and the plain yellow but I will use them and well all the other I love. I can’t believe I got four rolls of it for only 5 dollars each. Such a steal!

So to finish of this post I just figured I would show you my basket of all of my new yarn because I think they are just so pretty  and inspiring all together and some pictures of my new succulent plants.
